Cherokee Phoenix
First issued in 1828, the current newspaper reports on the Cherokee people and includes sections titled: News, Culture, Health, Money, and CN Election 2021. Historical issues from 1828 until 1834 are available in 19th Century U.S. Newspapers (Gale) while issues from 1992 to 2016 are available in Ethnic NewsWatch.
Indian Country Today
An independent nonprofit news enterprise serving Indigenous communities throughout the Americas with news, entertainment, and opinion.
Indianz.com (Ho-Chunk, Inc. / Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska)
News, information, and entertainment from a Native American perspective. Includes 2-3 features per day. Other content is aggregated from other sources including from the federalregister.gov. Topics may include legislations, health issues, and court decisions. Note: The site includes many ads.

First American Art Magazine
A magazine established in 2013 to highlight Indigenous Arts of the Americas. See “About Us” > “Press” for some sample issues. The “Archives” lists contents in each issue.

Film

American Indian Film Gallery
An online collection of films from 1922 through 2011 by and about Native peoples of the Americans. Select “Films” to browse for films or use the search box. Historian J. Fred McDonald compiled and digitized the films. The University of Arizona provides access to these digital films while the originals are preserved by the Library of Congress.
