When signing up for the Mendeley Reference Manager, we recommend using your personal non-UCM email account.

When logging in to your library through the Mendeley website, Do not choose the institutional log in option. Log in with the email and password you entered when creating your account. Mendeley is currently not compatible with Duo Two-Factor Authentication.

Get Started with Mendeley

Getting started with Mendeley is easy! When you create a free account, you have access to your Mendeley Web Library immediately.

To get the most out of Mendeley, we recommend:

Download the Reference Manager;
Install the Web Importer; and
Install Mendeley Cite in Word

Create an Account

Register for an Account
Create a Mendeley account using your preferred email address. Your account will provide access to Mendeley Web; Mendeley Reference Manager for Desktop and tools are downloaded separately.
Mendeley Web
Mendeley Web is the online portal to your Mendeley Library of references, as well as account settings, subscription settings, space usage, and Mendeley's crowd-sourced web catalog.

Mendeley Reference Manager for Desktop
Mendeley Reference Manager for Desktop can be used to build, organize, and share your references, which is synced with the web versions. From Mendeley Reference Manager for Desktop, build your library, annotate PDFs and share notes, generate citations, and access the Web Importer and Mendeley Cite tools.
Mendeley Web Importer
The Web Importer is a browser extension that imports citation information into your Mendeley library from academic databases and non-academic websites.
Mendeley Cite
This MS Word add-on allows you to insert and format in-text citations and bibliographies in thousands of citation styles and is compatible with Microsoft Office 365, MS Word 2016 and above and with the MS Word app for iPad. Download using the above link or from the Tools menu of Mendeley Reference Manager for Desktop.
