In January 2025, the current administration began removing crucial data from public, federal government websites. Public data and statistics support everyone in the United States by allowing for informed decision-making. To this end, UC Merced Library put together an online research guide to help you find archived sources of this data or alternative options.

Campus Data Support Services

Biostatistics & Data Support Center [Health Sciences Research Institute]
BDS services are available to all UCM faculty, Public Health graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and community healthcare providers. BDS can assist with experimental design, grant proposals, facilitate access to and analysis of secondary datasets. Digital Curation and Scholarship Unit [Library]
Digital Curation and Scholarship services include, but not are limited to, training and guidance in curating and preserving research data, data management planning, and supporting research projects through digitization services.
Research Computing [Office of Information Technology]
OIT Research computing services include, high-performance computing on the Linux-based, 2076-core MERCED Cluster, data collaboration using the 10Gpbs UC Merced Science DMZ Network, research data storage, and visualization on the Wide Area Visualization Environment (WAVE) facility. Research Data Management Consultation Service [Library + Office of Information Technology]
This service is for active faculty and research groups (including graduate students) who require data management plans, data curation, publication or storage of primary research data. The RDM Program offers consulting, training, and online guidance to address new requirements from funding agencies, publishers, and data providers, and to help researchers manage and steward their data effectively and efficiently.
SpARC Spatial Analysis & Research Center [Library]
UC Merced hub for spatial science research, analysis, education, visualization, spatial data archiving, and access to spatial science software and equipment for UC Merced and its partners. Visit website for GIS lab open hours, additional services and to schedule an appointment. SpARC provides consulting services to graduate students and faculty members to support grant applications, research and publications.

Statistics Tutors [Graduate Division]
Tutors available for assistance with experimental design, data tidying, visualizing data, methods and models. Note, tutors cannot write or run analysis for students. Drop in during walk-in hours listed on the webpage or email gradtutor@ucmerced.edu with “Stats tutoring” as the subject.
