Teaching Research And Information Literacy (TRAIL) Curriculum Resources for Writing 10

Course Learning Outcome:  Demonstrate information literacy and be able to work with evidence

Goal:  Show the value of generating keywords for searching from background reading.

Specifically, students will be able to

  • Access an article on a topic of interest from a reference source (in CREDO)
  • Extract keywords from reading

For Instructors - Accessing Student Participation

After each quiz, students can email the results to themselves and to you.  Instructions are available in the tutorial.

There are a couple ways to look for participation.

The email will come from admin and will start with the subject Certificate of completion ... Please check your spam folder for the email or search for "certificate of completion" in your email.

Students take a screenshot of their tutorial results and send that to you as proof of completion.  They could also upload that screenshot to Canvas.

Lesson: Generating Key Words Using CREDO

Student complete CREDO tutorial independently or together as a class. (See below.)

Use CREDO for background research.  Use graphic organizer template(s) to record key words related to research question. (See box at right.)
