Thesis / Dissertation: A long piece of writing presenting an author’s research and findings required for the completion of an advanced degree.
This culminating document is a thesis for a Master’s degree and a dissertation for a Doctorate degree (Ph.D). Some countries may use the terms thesis and dissertation interchangeably or use the phrase graduate thesis for either of these documents.
