Keywords to Subject Headings

Subject Headings (Library of Congress)

Subject headings start with the topic and may have subheadings -- indicated with a dash -- that can refer to topical (antiquities), publication (dictionary), time period (19th century), or geographic area (Rome).  Subheadings make the subject more specific.

Subject headings may be inverted to emphasize the most important word. See examples with commas.
