Searching Practice

Individual practice:

  • For each database we review today:
    • Take 2 minutes to explore the database by doing some practice searches and clicking around.
    • Add to the Database Comparison Chart below noting pros, likes, cool features. 

Group practice

  • Using 1 of the databases we discussed today (UC Library Search, Google Scholar, Sociological Abstracts, Social Sciences Combined)
    • Try to locate at least 1 relevant source related to your research question, key concepts, variables.
    • Database Comparison Chart: pros, likes, cool features.
