American Sociological Association citation formatting

The American Sociological Association (ASA) has its own citation formatting style. Your instructor is requiring that you use this style when citing information and/or resources for this course. In content and format, ASA style is very similar to MLA style (BUT NOT IDENTICAL!).

If you're a CRES major, or a major in a social sciences field, you may be more familiar with American Psychological Association (APA) citation formatting style. Be advised that APA and ASA are very different, and you'll want to use the ASA style guides referenced below.
