Spark 001 (DePrano): Find a Known Item

Library Research for SPRK 001: What Do Things Mean?

Strategies

Strategies for Locating Known Items (article focus)

1.  Look for the title in Google Scholar especially if it is an article. In the results list, click on the title OR UC-eLinks button under "More".

2.  Look for the title in UC Library Search, especially if it is a book.  Look for the Get it at UC button.

3. If an article, look for the journal title in the Journals@UCMerced tab.  See if the journal is available.  Is the date you need available?

4. You may be able to find the article in a major database related to the subject area of the article. Challenge: We do not always know what journals are indexed by a database.
