The Library has a variety of study pods and locations to choose from. They are available on the third and fourth floors of the Library on a first come, first served basis.

Fourth Floor 

The fourth floor of the UC Merced Library is the quietest. Find a table or chair anywhere here and you'll be sure to get some solid study time in!

But if you need even more quiet....check out our Reading Room!

The McFadden-Willis Reading Room on the fourth floor of the University Library is the quietest place in the Library for study.

McFadden-Willis Reading Room

The McFadden-Willis Reading Room, KL 455, is a designated quiet study area.

Eligible Users: 
  • Students, staff and faculty
How to Reserve a table or seat: 
  • First-come basis
  • The McFadden-Wills Reading Room cannot be reserved in its entirety
Access: 
  • KL 455 is located on the 4th floor of the Library.
