Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), Ronald Williams Library, 1:22
This video explains what library databases are and that they are organized by subject matter. It also highlights that databases can be limited to articles that are peer-reviewed. This video includes the different types of sources that can be found in databases, as well (books, magazines, newspapers, videos, and music); many videos don’t usually include that information. The video does start with a sign-in which may be misleading for access to our databases. Perhaps it could be followed with a “this is how you access the UCM Library’s databases” video or instructions. This would be good to use in a class session or to have students watch prior to a flipped lesson. The video has a little branding at the end; stop the video at 1:17 to skip the last few seconds.

- What are some databases (online collections) you may have used in your life outside of school? (This might require some probing.)
