Business Society: Industry Research

A review of industry research sources, including databases, free online federal and state government resources, and more.

REMEMBER: AN INDUSTRY IS A PROCESS!

It's fairly easy to think of an industry as a product rather than a process. For example, the "automotive industry," if there were such a thing, would encompass all aspects of cars, including the manufacture and the sales of cars. But those are two different PROCESSES: the building of the car, and the selling of the car. It's best to think of them as two separate industries. There's a third car-related industry, too: the automotive aftermarket industry, which involves the sale of car component replacements: windshield wipers, headlights, car floor mats, seat covers, etc.
