Basics of accessibility for digital and print documents; tips and tools for academics. This workshop was presented on January 31, 2024 for the Center for the Humanities.

Lists

You will find options for Ordered and Unordered lists in Word, other document processing software apps, and rich text editors in websites and platforms like CatCourses. 

Best practices for lists

  • Use the built-in bullet point option in your word processor or on the web for unumbered lists
  • Use the numbered list option when lists is in order (chronological, sequential, etc.)
  • Do not use the hypen (-) or asterisk (*) for this purpose because it will not make sense to screen reader software

Unnumbered List

Numbered List

Follow these steps: 

  1. Open a document
  2. Add your name to the document
  3. Save and close the document
