Women's and gender studies research takes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of gender, its function in cultures and societies, and its intersections with race and class. Research within women's and gender studies also often includes feminist theory, masculinities and men's studies, studies of sexualities, LGBTQI studies, and girlhood and boyhood studies.

Valley Crisis Center (National Coalition Against Domestic Violence)
Offers a 24 hour crisis line. Since 2008 Valley Crisis Center of Merced County has been the community’s response to violence and abuse, serving victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other serious crimes, while also working to prevent violence and abuse through prevention education, intervention training and public awareness.
