Using RefWorks to Build an Annotated Bibliography

Modify Citation Information

To modify the citation details of a reference, take the following steps.

  1. Click on a reference. This will bring up a side panel on the far right of the screen.
  2. Click the pencil icon in the upper right of the citation panel.
  3. Now you can edit any citation fields. You may wish to
    • check that author names are complete.
    • add an attachment
    • add tags or notes.
  4. Click "Save" at upper right.

Highlight & Take Notes on Sources

To add highlights and notes to a document you have stored in RefWorks, take the following steps.

1. Click on the reference.  (An icon under the reference will indicate that it has an attachment.) The citation panel will load at the far right.

2. Click the "Read" button.

3. Click on the A icon and then drag across a sentence to highlight. Click the Comment icon to highlight and comment.
