Melvyl is a search tool that helps users discover books, DVDs, and government documents, as well as articles, datasets, and archival materials that have not normally been discoverable through traditional library catalogs.
In Melvyl, you can:
limit your search to the UC Merced Library, University of California Libraries, or Libraries Worldwide
use filters on the left-hand side of search results to help narrow results to specific authors, dates, formats, etc.
find various editions & formats of a work in one record
use the UC-eLinks & Request buttons as needed, allowing you to check for full-text availability and/or to request resources from another library through Interlibrary Loan (ILL), a free service for UC Merced students, staff, and faculty.
copy citation information in common citation formats (e.g. MLA, APA) or export the data to citation management tools, e.g. RefWorks
Use the arrow navigation below or click on the tabs on the left-hand side of the screen to learn more about Melvyl's features.
