Graduate Summer Bridge Program: Accessing Library Resources

A guide to introduce new graduate students to library services, resources, & search strategies.

Access Library Resources from Off Campus

The VPN allows you to connect to the library's online articles and eBooks from off campus. Download it once, and log in with your UCMNetID each time you want to use resources off campus.

Acccessing the Full-Text with UCeLinks

If the full-text of an article is not immediately available via a PDF or HTML, use the UC-eLinks button to retrieve it from another database or reach the request page to get it from another library through Interlibrary Loan using your UCMnetID.

Click on the double-arrows that appear underneath the short summary of the article in the results list.

There are always exceptions!  In SciFinder Scholar, look for "Link to Other Sources" to use the back-end technology of UC-eLinks.

  • To check the status of your Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests or renew your ILL requests, use your My ILL Requests Account.
    • Library card/account = UCMNetID
    • Home campus = UCM
  • To check the status of everything you have checked out, use your My Library Account.
    • Use your UCMNetID and password
  • To check out physical items, just bring your CatCard.
