Like others in the Library, my work has a lot of variety. My main areas of focus are instruction (planning, developing, and teaching library research sessions), reference (meeting with students, faculty, and staff in-person and online -- for instance via our 24/7 chat tool -- to discuss their research), and helping with outreach events, like the Library's participation in Orientation, for example.
In addition to these areas, I'm also interested in games in the library, and in finding better ways to connect people with information, whether that's through online tutorials, signs, or special events. I'm endlessly fascinated by how people learn, and by figuring out what I can do in the Library to make that process easier when it comes to research.
My favorite part of my job is being able to help people find what they need, so I'm always happy to hear from Library users who have questions -- please don't hesitate to contact me by email, text, or phone. I'm inspired every day by the work being done around campus and I'm happy to get the chance to be a part of it.
