AIDS Archive Walk: AIDS Digitization Project

A UC Merced Library & School of Natural Sciences Living-Learning Communities Collaboration

The San Francisco Bay Area’s Response to the AIDS Epidemic

In 2017, the UCSF Library's Archives & Special Collections unit, San Francisco Public Library, and the GLBT Historical Society were awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to digitize 127,000 pages of material from almost 50 collections related to the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in the Bay Area.

The UC Merced Library's Digital Curation & Scholarship unit was selected to help make these materials move to the online landscape.

Follow the progress of this project by visiting UCSF Library's Archives & Special Collections blog, Brought to Light.
